In his brilliant book, "A Brief History of Time," Professor Stephen Hawking opens with the story of a well-known scientist who gave a public lecture on astronomy. The scientist described how the moon orbits the earth, the earth orbits the sun, and how our solar system orbits around the center of the galaxy. When he finished, a little old lady got up and said, "What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise."

The scientist gave a knowing smile and replied, "What is the tortoise standing on?"

"You're very clever, young man, very clever," she replied. "But it's turtles all the way down!"
Hey! Yes! You guessed it! There is no convincing the little old lady, no then there is convincing you’re dumb brother-in-law, that network marketing is not always an illegal pyramid scam. Those little things...

The magic of thinking big David J. Schwartz

About 25 years ago, building a network marketing business (mlm) our leader organized a contest. Something about contest, I cannot enter a contest without winning, I have to win I have no other choices. The contest was in 3 parts. First part 4 weeks, first who make the most business presentation that week gets a trophy. Second week most sales. Third week most new members. And Fourth week most presentation and most sponsoring for the individual’s team. I got all four trophies. Part two had to do with attendance to meeting functions and other group participations get a series of books one of them was The Magic of Thinking Big. And the last part of the contest was a total overall of the whole contest and that was a whole week end for the family in a plush hotel all expenses paid including transportation. Got it all. Did it. Felt awesome, it did!
I read the book back then and thought, that’s what I did, I went for it not even thinking I could fail or that someone else could be better none of that just went for it and did it. That book opened doors for me and for a while things were great. And then I encountered some walls one after the other and slowly I went down the hill and off course it got worse and worse. At that time I didn’t realized what was going on and it’s only after months of this, that I started to think of all the good things that did happen, fertilizing the roots, and start growing again slowly and finally got back on top. And this roller coaster ride happen often in the last 25 years. The highs got higher and the low not so much until now where its mostly little bump and very small dips.
When I first read the book I made a list of 100 things I would like to do, and I have done most of them, some of them have changed over the years, and some of them were, at the time, considered impossible. Space travel was one of them, quite possible today it’s only a matter of cash, nothing else. Today when I look at my list I am amazed of the things I have done. And that prompted me to create a new list.
My ultimate goal: to leave this earth with at least one unfinished project.

A starfish Story And More

Everyone knows the story by Loren Eiseley The Starfish Story. Well here it is again.
Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.

One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.

As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.

He came closer still and called out "Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?"

The young man paused, looked up, and replied "Throwing starfish into the ocean."

"I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?" asked the somewhat startled wise man.

To this, the young man replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they'll die."

Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, "But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can't possibly make a difference!"

At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, "It made a difference for that one."
A story of inspiration like many others including “The Rag Picker” in Og Mandino’s book “The Greatest Miracle in the World” or the real life story of Grameen Bank the 2006 Nobel Prize winner for his idea of micro-loans to poor people of Bangladesh.

A starfish Story And More

The strenght of the team

Sometimes we fail to realize how much support we have from our co-workers or tea members until something happen. Yes I to failed to see. After many years working together, a few skirmish and light argument we have a tendency to take each other for granted. And we ,I should say I, loose sight of the goodness in people we rub shoulders with day after weeks after month, and years. And sometime remember only the not so positive times when we don’t agree or worse.

Sunday July 27. I am at work, one of those emergency that need our attention, no delay. Everyone else was gone for the week end so I ended up fixing the problem by myself. One of my co-worker offered to come and help on Sunday when it was tie to re- assemble the unit. So at around 4:00 PM I called him for a hand. I could do it by myself but why take chance. During the testing process the main power panel blew and we had an electrical fire on our hand. With in split of a second the wall was on fire Fire extinguisher on hand I went to work. In the mean time my partner for the day went looking for the electrical room key to turn the main disconnect off. Then we took to task to remove the paneling from the wall to make sure there was no fire in the wall.

IT was a great blessing that we were two. This all episode could not be controlled by one person only. Dosing the fire and getting the key and running outside to the other end of the building in the electrical room to turn the power off. Either the power was turned off then the fire would have spread beyond control or the fire was kept in check but the smoke and powder from the extinguisher could have overcome the person.

Because two people work together in harmony was everything under control. And because of it we are now looking at each other with a complete different attitude. As long as we work side by side we will be a team.

In network marketing the strength of a team is paramount to any success. Building a team, support, encouragement training is the life blood of a team. We look for each other, we help each other, we care for one another. In network marketing the power of the team make each individuals stronger.
